Located at 280m above sea level on the northern edge of a sinkhole that faces the Mulinetto valley in the upper Val Liona, the fountain served the neighbouring districts and has an abundance of water as it is fed by a considerable catchment area behind. The water flows to the big square stone washing area through a pipe about twenty meters long that reaches the rock wall at the base of which you can see the opening of the catchment tank.
The fountain is an important example of the technique of capturing and using water in disadvantaged agricultural environments in the past.
