The fountain was built with the dual aim of serving the needs of families in the area and as a starting and control point of the canal of the mills. Still visible are the outlet pipe and the tube that carried water from the spring of Corìo located just below the ravine towards Pozzolo.

Also known as de Rizolin because it flowed to the eponymous mill, it is located at an altitude of 120m above sea level. The spring gushes at the head of the valley, rich in natural cavities.

The accessible washing fountain collects the spring water that comes from a man-made channel that enters into the base of the hill.
